A circle of endless struggle...for what?

A good friend of mine recently sent me a youtube video titled "More Than Money - What is "The Good Life" Parable". His message was short and clear: "we all should be living this life man / plain and simple"

This came a week after a young man, with whom I have lot of mutual acquaintances, but did not have the pleasure of knowing personally, passed away at a tender age of 21.

It makes me question, why are we all in this headless chicken race? In the end, we're just going to become ashes just like everyone else. I know that despite questioning this, and wondering why don't we just live a sustainable life and give time to what actually matters, for instance family, friends and ourselves, I am going to end up in the "headless chicken race" myself. That is the exact path I've begun to carve for myself.

But the point here is, at the end of the day, what are we trying so hard for? Yes, you must work hard to get food on the table, able to live comfortably and be happy, but beyond that, is there a point? Won't we just come out of it all with regrets, with questions in the genre of "could have, should have, would have".

For me, my grandfather's advice since I was young will also ring in my head. A poor man always sleeps better than a rich man because a rich man; the rich man would have to worry at night about what will happen to his money, but a poor man does not have any money to worry about.

Let's just smile and be happy.
